    Hammock Choices, 1st timer.

I was looking at a Blackbird with superfly, now I've been debating on a Hennessy hammock. Just looking for some opinions. Not trying to break the bank, but looking for something that will be comfortable in cooler weather in the BWCA. I do have a zero degree bag, I want a tarp that will keep me and all my stuff dry if the weather does turn bad.

Both are fine hammocks. I thought the BB was a bit more comfy, but with the HH you get everything together. The superfly is an awesome tarp and will keep you and your stuff dry.

Even with a 0* bag you are still going to need a pad or underquilt.

I have found my BB to be more comfortable but that is me. Depending on your height you could even opt for the longer BB as well. A nice tarp such as the Superfly, Big Daddy or something from OES would compliment either hammocks very well.

Would a cheap ccf pad get me by as far as retaining heat?

It will. Adding wings will make it even more effective, using a segmented pad extender, spe, which you can find diy directions for on Just Jeff's site. That said, I really do like the under quilt.

I bought two Hennessy's (Explorer and Expedition Zip) before I even realised a)other hammock manufacturers existed, and b)I had seen this place.

I'm still very happy with them, and have bought a third, and taken them out in sub zero deg centigrade, rain and snow with no problems.

There's an art to a good night's sleep, and my last hang wasn't the best (woke up to cold spots a few times).

I'm now eyeing the WBBB for my next hammock, and after a couple of small hikes with my lad, I'm seeing the benefit of shaving off ounces wherever possible.

The Hennessy stock suspension works well, but a speedier and easier to adjust system is on the list (once I've worked out whether I want a UCR, whoopies, or about eleventy twelve other permutations of webbing, amsteel, carabiners and toggles.

So between the two suspension choices for wbbb, which would be best? What all do I need to order other than carabiners to be ready to hang?

Do Hennessy come with everything? Benefits from wbbb over Hennessy?

Sorry for all the basic questions, I'm on my phone and it makes it more difficult for me to research.

I can't chime in on the WBBB but I can say that I am a HH owner and I love mine. The only thing I would have done differently is opt for the larger hex fly with the Hennessy and I would also have ordered the zippered Hammock. Just my two cents, good luck in choosing.

Maybe I'm paranoid about getting caught in the rain, buy I would really like the coverage of the superfly. I see they have some pretty serious tarps to consider at HH as well. This is too difficult! I'm going to make my final decision tonight.
