Cord Weight/Strength/Cost comparison

I just received my WB Mamajamba tarp and i've been trying to find some good lightweight guylines for it. While researching, I found this very helpful comparison on "Brian's Backpacking Blog". Some cord isn't available and there are some popular cord types missing but It helped me get a feel for some varying weights so I thought i'd share it.

I usually make mine out of dynaglide, but it is some serious overkill. Its a great general purpose line that I can make whoopies for a hammock, or STLs for my tarp out of.

Here are two more alternatives. The specs are at the bottom of each page. While Ultralight Designs appears cheaper, they are actually almost the same price with shipping. I just started using Litetrail and really like it.

These alternatives fall between Aircore 1 and Aircore 2 Spectra Cord in the excellent previous post, but at half the price!

I corresponded with Litetrail to find out when they will be stocking the blaze orange version of their G Line again. They will get a shipment in late march. I will use my zing-it until then.

Thanks for mentioning those other options MAD777. I'm glad you said something about the weight. I had looked at both the Gline and ULD Spectra Cord previously but because I had been looking at the weights in the chart I posted, I had ounces/foot on the brain, I shrugged both those lines off as too heavy. Thanks to your post I caught my mistake and have some other ultralight options to consider.

Thanks for the update mad goat. I may have to wait for some of that flo orange.

For those of you who have used the litetrail GLine, what are you using for your prusiks?
