AHE Toxaway vs WB MJ vs WL BigDaddy

I just ordered my BIAS WWM and now need a tarp. I've decided that coverage will be crucial, so I've narrowed it down to these three choices:

    AHE Toxaway
    144"x127"
    14oz
    $116 shipped

    WB MambaJamba
    132"x"120" WITH SIDE PANEL PULLS
    13.5oz
$121 shipped (or $101 shipped for slightly blemished)

    WL Big Daddy
    132"x115"
    13.9oz
    $100 shipped

All of these are very close in price, but have dimensional differences (however slight). The weight difference is negligible. I'm leaning towards the Toxaway because of it's size, but the MJ has the side panel pulls (which might be the deciding factor).

This will be my first tarp, and I hope to buy the correct one so I won't need to purchase another until I wear this one out. I'm trying to be cost conscious, BUT I will shell out the extra moolah for worthy gear when necessary.

I appreciate all of your insights very much.

You can also get the WL Big Daddy tarp with side pull outs for an additional $20.

Im sure they are all great tarps. I like my WBMJ. What I like is the ridgeline and the side pullouts. The binding on the ridgeline really makes it taught compared to my buddies. I personally would not buy a tarp with out side pullout. Plus if you ever want to add doors its setup to accept them Just my .02$

They are all great tarps. You really can't go wrong with any of those.

I use a Tadpole for 3 seasons and have never gotten wet (and they are only $85)

Another $20 and 5.5 oz will get you a Superfly... So far I love mine. I'm not a gram weenie so for me I'd rather carry an extra 5.5 oz if that means I can ride out just about any weather. If you later decide you want doors the door kit for the MB is heavier and a lot more expensive than just buying the Superfly to begin with.

So far I'm loving the doors for obvious winter-related reasons, but even in the Summer I think I'll appreciate the privacy they provide. My Superfly is bigger than my tent, by quite a bit.

+1 on Warbonnet. MJ if weight is a big concern. Superfly if it isn't (those doors sure are nice).

Re: AHE Toxaway vs WB MJ vs WL BigDaddy

I have the Toxaway and love it. Great product; like others have said you can add pull outs if you want them.
