    hennessy hex

I have a hennessy hex tarp. Not sure I like pulling on the center seam along the ridgeline with the oem tie outs just attached to the ends. Is it preferable to add a full length ridgeline to one of these, with maybe 10' extra on each end to secure it? Pros/cons, other than more weight/bulk? Thanks

I have the HH as well. I didn't care for the stock tieouts either, and went for a full length ridgeline (zing-it with a dutch hook on one side and a dutch stingerz on the other) running underneath the tarp.

Since the HH is not cat-cut, it sits nice and flat on the ridgeline and is pretty easy to tighten up this way.

I have been using the stock tie on my hex for a lot of nights...no issues.
Just switched to a continuous line with soft shackle prussicks. Only used one trip so far so not sure if I like it better. Will give it a few more goes before I decide.

The stock lines hold a taughtline hitch really well so....

Been using HH hex for many years I use a ridge line made of 1/8 amsteal I hang my pack and any other loose items from it. I could hang from it if I needed to. And no leaks we have 3 in all.

I use Zing-It. I like the bright yellow, keeps me from nearly decapitating myself at night. Other folk like Lash-It, same stuff, just not so brightly colored.

The HH Hex is my go to tarp for nasty weather. I use it with Zing It connected to the long ends and never had any problems. It has withstood everything from four hour nasty downpours to brutal winds. Check out the recent Roan High Knob Colder & Higher Hang video to see how the Hex stood up to an all night "brisk evening".
