    seeing into the future...

I am with slowhike on that one. I can not really see where things are going to be that far ahead. I do know that I normally do TOSRV on Mother's day weekend but I could be persuaded to take a trip. Jenny likes camping/hiking/fishing better anyway. Hey that could be my mothers day present to HER! A trip! Anyway, I will definitely consider this one if there are not conflicts.

One way uses the existing trail system and the other way would include some rock climbing. Both ways lead to a multitude of beautiful campsite situated on top of a very scenic ridge. You are looking at 1.5 to 2 mile hike in to get to the campsites

There is also another potential location in the same area that is situated on the Red River. It's about a 3 mile hike in and includes a beach and a swimming in the river (weather permitting). Of course we could also hold the hang out at the same site used for the last few gatherings.
    Hey Jason,
I was out at RRG in late Oct/Nov timeframe and there was a large section of the backcountry closed to camping due to a forest fire (careless campfire...)
Do you know if the Indian Staircase is still available? (I won't pretend to know the gorge well enough to know!)
If you are unsure, might want to check it out
Outside of Mothers Day, I'm in for a hang in the gorge!

Wow... if that's a positive & not a sarcastic remark to Adam's proposal (Jenny likes camping/hiking/fishing better anyway. Hey that could be my mothers day present to HER! A trip!), then he is surely a blessed man!!!

Hmmm... I'm planning to attend Hot Springs in April (which is usually and still most likely to be the third weekend in April, isn't it?), and I'd better not be gone for two weekends in a row, so I guess I'm not going to make this one. If there's another trip there some other time, I'll try to make it.

You're all right about being AWOL on Mother's Day, not a good idea.

The part of the gorge that was on fire is not in the area of Indian Staircase. It was around the Rough trail and the Pinh'em Tight trail. Last I heard Indian Staircase was in good condition. I was down there the day after the fire started at Rockbridge.

Haha. No, not sarcastic at all! I kind of think these holidays are a bit overrated, IMO. However, that being said, that day is supposedly reserved for doing with the Mom wants to do.....And ya'all know by now what I'd like to do! Are we ready, yet?......
