    Synthetic top quilts

Has anyone used a synthetic quilt over a down quilt for winter camping?

Haven't done this in a hammock, but in a tent it worked great. There is a lot of info on this over on BPL. Just search quilt layering. Because the synthetic is on the outside of your down, any condensation in your sleep system will occur there protecting your down. Also the synthetic will protect from any outside moisture because it doesn't suffer as much from getting wet.
