I do a cheezy bacon grits on some of our bigger gatherings,

6 C of water with 1 T salt and 2 packs of bacon pieces, bring to a boil
add 2 C of quick grits, 5 min grits, and stir
add cheese, either grated or diced Velvetta about 1/2 lb to melt

This can be done in any pot, a dutch oven isn't necessary. Black pepper and pepper sauce to taste. Have recently thought about adding a can of Rotella to the pot.
Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.

Will add a +1 on the Bablefish BBQ spaghetti. With bannock on the side. Follow it up with a DARK chocolate bar...I like one with red chiles in the chocolate...sweet, salty, and a bit of spice.

    mmmmmmm!
