this is probably going to be moved to the donating members section... i see your new, the main part of the forum that you can see is policed fairly well to keep it focused solely on Hammocks and hammock gear... anything NOT hammock gear (stoves, food, clothing, knives, packs, kayaks, etc etc) is in the donating member... it costs $10 a year to join and it is worth it if you plan on hanging around... in the PIF section they give away memberships sometimes so you may drop by and see what your luck brings...

What type of excursion are you going on? For car/paddle camping it is hard to beat the wonderful dishes that can be made in a dutch oven. For backpacking check out BabelFish5's Hungry Hammock Hanger series for some absolutely wonderful dehydrated meal options.

It will be a paddle, with a 2.5 mile portage to start. So I'm looking at lightweight. We will be there 4 nights. Trying to avoid the other guys bringing everything but the kitchen sink like last year!

If you want to feed the guys one meal that they will love, and is lightweight to carry in, then I'd say make a big batch of BF5's BBQ Spaghetti. Dehydrate at home and rehydrate at camp. I've yet to meet a meat eater that doesn't love this. I'll take it to work every once in awhile and my coworkers are constantly hovering over me as I eat it.
