For Sale: DIY JCP down puffer topquilt

Well...I have never attempted to sell DIY equipment before but here it goes! **One Sold, One Remaining**

I am willing to make up to two (2) down topquilts if anybody is interested. These are made from the JCPenney down puffer jackets (650-fill), and are sewn-through baffles. They are two piece topquilts, with a sewn dedicated lower footbox and a jacket top. They pieces are attached by a full-width strip of velcro, and the jacket is completely usable as a jacket when detached from the footbox. The footbox has sewn "wings" to extend coverage around your sides, and a small pocket for a small ccf footpad. If you would like to see more construction details, or how to make one for yourself, my DIY write-up is here. In the stuff sack with the metal cordlock the total TQ comes in at 19 ounces (which is the same weight as the DIY RAB Topquilt). I am 5'9" 210 pounds, and it covers me just fine and is long enough to reach to the top of my head. There is an outside "whatnot" pocket on the outside of the footbox.

I have tested this on two occasions. On one occasion I was comfortable in it down to about 26*, on the second I tested this to 32*, and was comfortable to about 34*. However, I was not dressed appropriately for the weather either time because I wanted to test the limits of the topquilt independent of appropriate clothing. You can read my test write-up here. I also shared my second test in my original DIY post.

Your topquilt will include a jacket top, sewn footbox bottom, sewn velcro on both pieces, and a factory stuff-sack with cordlock that the whole kit will fit into. Color will vary.

I will take $120 for each topquilt, CONUS shipping included. (keep in mind the jackets were originally priced around $90 each)

I hope that you feel that this is a fair price. I did a little research on the site and felt like this is reasonable...if not let me know.

Per forum rules, the first "I'll take it" gets it/them.

    Thank you for asking!

**UPDATE** Just for the sake of accuracy...my mechanical scale shows 19 ounces but my digital scale shows 22 ounces.

Against my better judgment... I'll take one.

Edit: for the record, the better judgment is about the amount of money in my wallet, and has nothing to do with the level of confidence I have in the TQ. It looks really cool.

Thanks! I appreciate the clarification...when I first read that I thought "oh no"!

bumpity-bump! I'm going to give this about another week or so, and then I am going to start making other things (I only have a few jackets, so when they get used they are gone).
