Yes. The Speer version (non-universal) has velcro sewn all around the top edge of the quilt, for mating to the Speer hammocks which also have velcro on them. For hammocks without that velcro, the universal model is the best choice.

Yes, the Universal model SnugFit comes with multiple pull tabs along each side instead of velcro. The tabs allow one to rig ties to corresponding tabs on your hammock--or you can even use the tabs to run lines up & over a ridgeline to lace up the SnugFit sort of like tying a shoe. The pull tabs allow several different ways if needed to help hold the underquilt to the side of your hammock. Once in the hammock, your weight takes over & holds the SnugFit in place.

Yeah, I'd go with the Universal for the BlackBird. I ordered the universal, but got the Speer model. It worked out because I was ordering it for Genuine Draft to use on the AT and she was sleeping in my TrekLight without a ridgeline. She was able to seal it partway across the top using the velcro (similar to a peapod) and she liked that, so I didn't have a reason to return it. The only difference is the velcro along the edges and since it won't seal over a ridgeline, there's no reason for it with a BlackBird.
    Trust nobody!

Both of you are patriots of the highest order. If you both don't some kind of award or medal out of this, I'll be surprised.

Sweet. I'm thinking that's the one I'll get then.
