I am excited about the new Exped Downmat Light. One review said it has an R value of 4.5; the Exped site rates it at 4.1. And, of course, it is much less expensive than the DownMat 7 and 9.

Haven't heard of this at all and I've been reviewing the hell out of Downmats. At 4.1 is a decent spring-fall pad. Don't think I'd take it below freezing. Thanks for the post, gonna go check it out.

That's outstanding, I've been looking for a pad for the ol' lady and I think the downmat lite 5 will be it. Was looking at the big ag insulated air-core, can be found for 60.00 for 26oz. for 40 bucks saving half a lb? That's great, and I think .5 better R value than the BAIAC. Thanks for the stats and links
