    Advantages and disadvantages of ridgelline?

    So i just bought some Ultra light ridge-line chords form jacks r better.com http://www.jacksrbetter.com/shop/ult...ge-line-cords/. and one know the advantages between these and a full ridgeleine?

    The ones you linked to are meant to just attach to the tarp ends which is what I do. A continuous ridgeline (CRL) can either be over or under the tarp and users of either have their reasons for their preference. I've used all three and have not really gained an appreciation of one over the others. It's an often discussed topic which I'll leave to those who prefer over or under the tarp. For me, using the separate lines, since I have continuous loops on prusiked to the lines, its easy enough for me to adjust and centre a tarp between trees.

    The above the tarp CRL does allow the catenary cut of some tarps to take shape which allows for a taut pitch.
    A below the tarp CRL allows for a place to hang wet clothes in summer or can provide more support in winter for accumulated snow.
