Mid May will not work out for me. I've got one graduating from King College, then the other one graduating from McMinn County the following Saturday. Life is going to be busy and hectic till the dust settles.

For those looking to hike and hang, Tub Springs campsite is a good spot with the spring nearby. Another .4 mile (I think) takes you to the lookout tower at an elevation of 3,324'.

Please let me know what you think of the plan thus far. If you have suggestions please let me know.

Frozen Head is a great park. Roche and I organized a family hang there a couple of summers ago at Judge Branch. Easy 0.6 mi in.

I haven't been to all the campsites, but I have reconned several. Tub Springs and Judge Branch are good for hanging and have water. Mart Fields was widowmaker central as of last spring. Spicewood branch (has water) and North Old Mac (dry) are smallish for a group hang. Water availability is pretty good overall, but creeks can dry up in the summer.

The wildflowers are absolutely spectacular during April and May, making it popular in the spring. The park has several campsites, but in the big scheme they really aren't far from one another. A two night trip would involve a lot of lolly gagging or some creative routes for those wanting to cover more miles.

The weekend of May 18th is the Trail Days Festival in Damascus, VA. A good many HFs go to that (including me). The Hot Springs hang is usually in early May, but I haven't seen a thread on it yet (if there is one this spring). Early May would work better for me for a Frozen Head hang.

So first thing, I would like to apologize to Roche for the misquote. I think I saw specific words when I read your post to fast and put a differnt sentence together. So, my bad.

Also, I'm seeing a lot of people who can't do that weekend. I'm pretty well free after the 12th. Maybe. Depending when my final is for my emt class. But I'm willing to change up the dates for the most involvment.

Please post when you can or could and we can try put a better plan together.

No apology required on an internet forum (unless your EMT class is taught on an internet forum).

It is impossible for everyone's schedule to line up perfectly (graduation, birthdays, sports, Scouts - and that's just my schedule). May I suggest proposing a couple of dates or create a poll and see what works out best for the majority.

How much hiking are we potentially talking about? I am A.D.D. so I like to stay on the move... but I can build fires and swat skeeters if I have to to get my workout in...LOL!

I am a definite Maybe. Sounds like fun!
