We can all relax now. They caught the guy.
Yeah, my mother in law was giving me the play by play as soon as she heard the story. I wasn't too worried considering they had found the vehicle on the opposite end of the forest from the shelters we'll be at, but I'm glad his capture will ease her mind about the threat of a desperate fugitive roaming the woods at night.
So, is everyone ready to go hang in the piney woods? See y'all this evening. Lorax, see you tomorrow. Hike dry my friends.
I was thinking about night hiking it in from a closer point, but with work, I didn't want to roll into camp and disturb anyone at 1am. I should be rolling past Shelter #5 by 10;30 am tomorrow.
I'll catch you guys tomorrow. Enjoy the day, Shelter #5 is a great hanging spot.
Weather is looking good.
I'll be with you all in spirit at Chain O' Lakes State Park just south of the border with the Scout troop.
Have fun!
Trip report coming as soon as I unload my pack and upload some pics.
It was an awesome weekend. The weather was perfect!
Awesome time! Give me a shout if you ever want to hike the area again.
Thanks TW for putting this together!
Here are some pixs my son-in-law Jared took (he really needs a trail name). These are shots from our hike in to Shelter 5 @ Greenbush in the Kettle Moraine State Forest Northern Unit.
