I'm currently saving for a under quilt. I've used pads in the past but how do you deal with heavy thick fog. I've had it so thick around me the ground is covered beneath tarp. I know enough that wet down can get you in trouble quick.

Also, I use a Overcover for my OverQuilt. It's made of material like DriDucks. @ 7ozs. I only carry it in the winter.

Ground is covered beneath the tarp because the moisture gets heavy and settles down on it. Should not do so on the UQ. However, I've been in that soup before where everything gets wet, so its a good question. I didn't have a problem the time I went because I was using a pad then. Even when I got my UQ, I still used to take an inflatable pad as backup, but stopped doing that for weight savings. Might rethink that for some trips.

Explanation not needed, but thanks anyway.
I've been in fog like that at Linville Gorge, where we got lost on the way back to the truck walking 50' away. Used my HG UQ and didn't have any issues. They have a DWR finish on the fabrics that should be able to shed fog.
If these are the conditions which you encounter, consider water resistant down here ...

Big tarp with doors closed tight pulled down touching the ground. 2QZQ UQP under my quilt. No more fog worries.
