    Testing Gear

Testing out some new gear and very warm with just TQ and Reflectix pad in my HH Explorer with a DIY hammock sock. 38F degrees no wind. Took off the reflectix pad to see if I would get cold and instant cold backside. Its amazing how well that stuff works even by it self. Gonna go ahead and spend the rest of the night out there. Think I am just gonna use it on my next hang in April. Pretty light compared to an UQ.

Paired with the sock, I can see that pad working quite well.

I've been reading that reflectix and similar materials lose their functionality (reflecting back radiant heat) unless there is air space between it and the heat source (your body). I guess you didn't find this to be the case?
