    Savage Gulf 7-10 March 2013

I believe this is a list of everyone that was at Savage Gulf during some part of the trip. Some of you are about to pull up a Chinese buffet and I wish I could've made that!

I had a great time seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones.

Thursday night had a low of 22* F with a handful arriving. We had a huge breakfast on Friday morning! 8.5 out to Hobbs Cabin with a low of around 35* F. Saturday, in and out of the gulf and up to Stage Road. It was only in the high 40's or low 50's but there were winds I'd estimate at 30 mph. Finally we came out this morning.

I'd say DJames gets the trooper award for forgetting his hammock on night 2, but hiking all the way out and back in again the next day to meet us.

Jimmy Neutron looked like he should have been in a hospital but pushed forward. I hope you get better soon!

What a great weekend! Highlights for me were the big b-fast Friday (Les's gravy, Poof's eggs, and bacon), trail time with friends old and new, beautiful scenery, and loads of laughter around the campfire. Ftroop -- thanks for being point person for this hang. I vote we should make it an annual event. I'm so glad I made it, even I was a day later than planned.

I wanted to thank everyone for allowing me to intrude the last night. It was great meeting everyone. I had a great time. I also wanted to says thanks for sharing your knowledge. I thoroughly enjoyed the parade of homes. MedicineMan are you sure you are not a real estate agent? I think Hangnout needs to hire you. I sure hope to get to do it again!!

Great time!! I'll come back next year if we decide to make it an annual event. Well worth the six hour drive to meet everyone, share stories, and attempt to keep up with ftroop94's wicked pace on the trail!

The link for the ghost chili jelly and hot sauce I shared can be found at www.locolitos.com. The hot sauce was "Pray for Mercy."

And...I am feeling a bit Roche'd. I made the mistake of trying ftroop94's ZBlast backpack on before leaving yesterday. Actually had everything in the PayPal checkout last night and somehow summoned the willpower to keep from going final on the sale...I think I have just postponed the inevitable!

See you around the forums. Again, awesome trip!

Wow! What a great time! The Grump and I really enjoyed it,,she said as we were driving home Why don't we do this every month!? I just had to agree with her! The best way I can sum it up was finally meeting distant family members lol! You will be seeing more of us in the future! My only regrets were being there for just a portion of the trip and missing 2 days of fellowship! (and not seeing the forestry worker with the leafblower !.) Thanks to all for the kind welcome and to Ftroop for being point man for this!!

I really enjoyed this hike & hang and putting faces with trail names. Looking forward to some more hikes in the area. 2sticks and I want to say thanks to everyone that came and to ftroop for organizing this great hang.

Below is a short video showing some of the scenery from my hike on Wed/Thur with Spamburglar and emcee and a couple takes from later in the hike. The last couple hikes I have enjoyed hiking and not taken a lot of video so this is just a few video "snapshots" of the trip. The hike started with snow on Wed and ended with 60 degree temps on Sunday.

Medicineman will be producing the real trip video but until he is able to get his posted this will give a preview of some great scenery and company.
