I was just Googling for something like that. I'm on the hunt for a new hammock to make. I want a ripstop fabric that is 0.6oz or less per sq yard. I want it to be uncoated and 60" wide.
I plan on making my first double layer hammock and want it to be roughly the same weight as mine now which uses uncoated 1.1oz.
If we can get enough interest in something that is basically uncoated M50 (~0.5oz/yd) maybe we could rig up a group buy? I'd be down for 12 yards so I could make two hammocks. I don't need it downproof, just strong enough in a DL to make a 9'x4.5'(or 5') hammock.
I want to start on my first diy hammock...
my current hammock is a dd hammock.. with whoopies it's 2 pounds..
if I could make something lighter but that could hold me ... that would be he great!
