I should be leaving town shortly after 9 this morning. After a long night at work, the 2+ hour drive, traipsing through the woods a bit, setting up my spot, and a fair amount of socializing I should sleep quite well in my hammock.

Unfortunately, I am not going to be able to make it... We have traveled 3 of the last 5 weekends and our gas budget is shot.

I also have a youth ministry event Saturday and I want to be there to encourage the students and help out the youth pastor.

Sorry you can't make it. It was nice to meet your family at the Grayson hang.

thanks TallPaul, Bonepile and others I hate to be missing this hang as well but we have camped 2x maybe even 3x more than we did last year and we have all hung on two camping trips. Even my 3 year old has 4 nights in a hammock this year.

I really wanted to come, mountain bike, and eat but this event was planned and I feel the need to be there.

The family really enjoyed meeting these random people I have talked about from hangs in the past.

My wife Squirrelgirl is veteran hanger after the Fall MAHHA (down to 32degrees) and she loved it. My daughter who informs me that her hammockforums name is HangingHorse loves camping in the hammocks better than a tent. My son actually asks to go to sleep in his hammock while camping versus fighting it in a tent.

it's now 3:40 and we are about 20 minutes out. It's raining but the radar is looking like it's clearing in a few. If it's not raining it's not camping :-)
