40 degree incubator & burrow review

So last year I picked up a 40 degree incubator and burrow from HG both with 2 ounce overfill. Been on a few camping trips, about 12 nights so far, and absolutely love these quilts. Two weekends ago i got the chance to see just how cold I could take these quilts down to. The first night the temps got down to right at 30 degrees with a slight breeze. Only woke up once in the night with a cold spot, readjusted, and good to go. Second night was slightly colder with wind chill down to 19. Didn't want to take a chance on being cold all night so i cheated and used a pad that night. Overall, really impressed with HG quality, and think i will be picking up a 20 degree set for next years winter season.

Good to know. I recently picked up a used Incubator 40 after being convinced it would be enough for most trips which are above freezing, and could supplement with my MW short if needed on colder trips - haven't been able to get out in it yet.

Does the down shift in these? The one I got seemed a little thin in the middle and I'm thinking I need to shift some down to the center, or torso area.

Thanks for the review! I am waiting on a 20* and a 40* incubator now. I already have the burrows to match them. I love my HG quilts and can't wait to get my incubators to go with the burrows. Nice to know yours kept you warm even below their rating.

Im patiently waiting on one and I am looking forward to it. It will be my main quilt for a good portion of my trips. I have faith that it will serve me well for a long time to come.
