    Talking best way to connect a tarp to a seperate ridgeline

    Hello,
    I am new to the hammock world, have a warbonet superfly - comming soon as my tarp. I have a explorer asim HH too stinken cool cant see me going back to be a ground dweller liven hangen 24/7in the home, have it hangen from the exposed beams in the 20x16 upstairs room for now. so here is the question i like the idea of the adjustable prusicks and a togle for the tarp outdoors of course, what is the lightest material and where do i buy some togle material?

    the togle will slip into the loops on the tarp or is there a better setup?
    seen ut funny hammock guy "shug" use the toggles for the tarpsetup.

    thanks from the old new guy hangen around...

    The lightest toggle is a trail stick since you never have to carry it. The lightest commercial toggle is probably a carbon arrow shaft cut to about 3" long. Welcome to the forum too.
    Good luck,

    a little heavier, I use 6 carabiners in my hammock/tarp/arl/straps. I use a carabiner on each side of my whoopies (4 carabiners) and the other 2 on my hammock. think this:
    ______________________________________/tarp
    Tree strap--->carabiner--->whoopie---->carabiner--->ridgeline
    ______________________________________ ---->carabiner----->hammock

    this way I can set my tarp up first if need be, it just clips into the carabiner (gate up).
    I would advise against prussiks unless you have diffrent diameter ropes. A prussick made of the same diameter cord thats strong enough to support you will tent to slip. this is due to the bend radius being very close to the rope diameter. Either splice yourself some whoopies or order some. I switched and wont go back, I dont think you will either. and the weight you gain in carabiners is offset by the drop when switching to amsteel.

    I use a sliding prusik knot at each end of the tarp on the ridgeline, mini carabiners clip onto the tarp and then the prusik.

    Easy to unclip although I rarely do
