    HHEDAZ Second Set Up

Hi- So I finally got a chance to set up my new Explorer Deluxe Zip... I was pretty pleased with how warm it was with the sun on it during that cold winter morning... My suspension was hung pretty far apart due to an object frozen to the gound.

Since this set up, I've had the chance to hang it again, using posts a little closer. It made a big difference.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with how fast it sets up and packs up. I'm quite fond of the descending ring/ carabiner rigging. And I'm really pleased with how incredibly comfy it is in a myriad of positions!

    Thanks- those things are brilliant!

Though does anyone know the optimal position for skins to be in when it's raining? Eg- bunch them up high, or leave them stretched out with a drip line where they end, or bunch them up low with a drip line above them?

Looks good! I put my skins right over where the suspension attaches to the hammock. I'm not sure if that's ideal or not, but it's worked for me so far.

So here are the last group of pictures from my third setup with the posts closer together. I could finally move all the crap (figurative) frozen to the ground.

It wasn't quite tight enough, but I guess I'm a little weary being new to this.

There's Han, sniffing around. She's just a puppy and won't be going camping for some time.

This is where my dog Chewie tries to get in... She's such a suck.

Yes- my dogs are named Han and Chewie. I call my yard the Falcon. And I have a wife! No kidding!

Is that the hex fly you have or the standard rain fly? Just curious.

I bet they would if I were brave enough to let her in... she's got nails that I fear would wreck it. But man, she really wanted in!

That's the hex. Apparently the hex is a free option over the stock one if ordered through Hennessy directly. I got mine through MEC so I didn't have the option. Hennessy was however kind enough to sell me the hex at a modest discounted price. So now I have both!
