Just be aware of the fact that, the tighter you string the hammock to reduce sag when you are in it, the higher the horizontal forces on the tie points. It's a trig thing.

There are horror stories in the search of walls and door jambs pulling loose.

Waist height plus one quarter of the distance between the support points is what I use. It looks high on the initial setup, but after jumping in the bottom point ends up at waist height.

If your wall supports are two-by-twos like mine, don't hang hammocks on them. Unless, of course, you are tired of your crappy underbuilt walls and want an excuse to build better ones. Two-by-fours, provided the pull is in the direction of the four, go ahead, just use a serious attachment.

I used 3600lb rated D rings and two 10 inch long 3/8" bolts on each end. I got these from home depot near the chains and other towing stuff in the hardware aisle.

I am a little worried about the wood, but I bounced some and didn't hear any cracking at all, so I think it's OK. I'm not sure how it's framed, but it looks like it's probably two 2x4's with some thin boards on the outside to dress it up. Also, the hammock is hung a bit loose, which should decrease the loads involved. I'll try to upload some pictures[br]
