    Cool My Caternary Top Cover

    Will post pics soon!

I made a cat-cut top cover to keep warm. I call it a frogger cover, lol, because it actually looks like a flattened turtle. It's shape is similiar to the winter dream tarp, and it hangs on the ridgeline with 1.5" grossgrain loops sewn in thirds (for easy sliding ability). The four dropped ends connect to the ridgeline on the inside with shock cord, and makes for a circular opening on the bottom just below the hammock. The circular opening sort-of stretches open on the bottom when you need to hop out, and toward the hammock ends features hook-and-loop stitching to seal it up nicely. Next, I plan on incorporating no-see-um netting (with more velcro), and also adding velcro to the loops so it can quickly be de-attached. Because I also have a raised ridgeline, I had to attach extra fabric to the sides so that it spans ~72" in width and covers each side. The ends hang only about 4-6" below the lowest point when laying, and the opening loosens up when entering/exiting. I can also detach one end and slide the entire cover to the foot-end, or flip one side over the ridgeline to cover only one side. I can also design this to stay up with shock cord on each end without using a ridgeline.

This can be a great mod to Fronkey's bug net design, minimizing the amount of fabric needed!

    What do you guys think?

    Thanks
    noob.

I agree. It sounds like an interesting way of rigging your tarp. Would love to see pictures.

    Yes, pix please.
I'll be making a small over cover/top quilt cover that I experimented with last weekend to stay a little warmer inside my hammock sock. Like to see what you have made.
