    ENO Atlas straps

Hey I am a noob when it come to hammocks and I have been looking in to buying an ENO double nest. I have also thought about purchasing the ENO Atlas straps... Has anyone tried these? Do they stretch? Are there better alternatives?
Just FYI I weigh a little over 300 lbs., thanks for any info that you can give.

I also weigh a bit over 300lbs, and I have the Atlas straps on one of my hammocks. They are pretty good, no issues with stretching or supporting my weight.

They are pretty adjustable, but my only complaint is that they are pretty bulky and heavy.

Definately lighter alternatives, but they are very user friendly and very adjustable. I use them on my ENO and Hennessy. Will also fit around a large tree if needed. I love mine!

I use the Atlas straps and am very happy with them but I motorcycle camp so weight is a non issue. If you backpack there are lighter alternatives.

What types of alternatives would you suggest?

A couple of 10' lengths of polyester webbing (not nylon!) works pretty well. I use this with an ENO singlenest for day hikes where I want to hang for a bit and chill. Use a marlin spike hitch and clip directly to it with the carabiners... quick and simple.

I also have recently purchased a set of Atlas Straps to use with my camping hammock (Hammock Bliss no-see-um that I converted to bunched end+carabiners) and I am very impressed with them. At first glance they might seem pricey, but when you consider that polyester webbing costs more than the nylon used in cheaper straps, part of the price premium is justified. I don't regret the money spent. Just my .02 worth.

They are easy, quick, and do not stretch. I like mine.

Used my ENO Atlas straps yesterday for the first time, they are a vast improvement over Slap Straps, which I used on Sunday. No stretch from the Atlas. As far as the weight rating goes, it's 400lbs per strap, i.e. 800lbs. Unless you are the proverbial gorilla, you should be good.
