    AT 501 Shelter Hang

Last weekend my son (Tinkr) and I were out trying to fill in a few AT sections up on Blue Mountain/Kittatinny Ridge. We got a late season snow during the hike that was pretty wet so we decided to look for a place to hole up and let the storm pass. Got the idea to hang inside of the 501 shelter which is one of the few at shelters that has four walls instead of three (think it was originally a potters shed). Anyway it was a great place to get out of the weather and I thought I'd share a couple of pics.

    see you on the trail,
    Mike

Only bummer is that we were prepared for 40s during the day and 30s at night, and not necessarily to be walking thru a half foot of snow. Still an awesome place to spend the night, some beautiful snow and some gin rummy with my dad. Good memories were made.

    Please forgive my ignoranace but

How do you hang the hammocks in the shelter. I see them hanging but am clueless as to how you have them hitched to the walls and poles. I want to be able to do this if needed when we hike the AT. Of course you were fortunate that the shelter was not full.
