Well, I must not go back to look at that site again. I do not need another hammock! I like the idea of it, I must say. Darn! Maybe I need to stay off HF and use what I have. Here I am looking at other, new ideas for hammocks as I wait to get a ship notice on a WBBBXLC to go with all my other gear I just bought. What an addiction!
I like refried beans. That's why I wanna try fried beans, because maybe they're just as good and we're just wasting time. You don't have to fry them again after all.

Wonder if anyone has made their own.

    From a link:
"Insul~Bright consists of hollow, polyester fibers needlepunched through a nonwoven substrate and through a reflective metalized poly film. The needled material is breathable and won’t break down with washing. The hollow fibers resist conduction while the reflective metalized poly film resists radiant energy. The energy, hot or cold, is reflected back to its source."

Quite expensive when you start adding it up. $258 for hammock and netting and top cover, add bottom cover and it's up to $337, then a total of $595 once you add the TQ & UQ, with tax $647. The UQ is synthetic. Plus they only have 1.9 and 2.5 nothing lighter like 1.1.

I do like the idea though, but I wonder about the weight?

It looks like the weight with everything may be around 5-6 pounds. I was confused at how the UQ and the under cover can each be 1 lb.????? A synthetic UQ weighing 1 lb and a 1.1 oz ripstop DWR UC weighing 1 lb???? Crazy!!!

i was just interested if anyone used this material insul~bright for a quilt or anything else.

Please note: This quilt is specially made to be attached to the Falcon Hammock via the Zip-Stick Rails and is NOT intended for use with an ordinary hammock.

Who here has an ordinary hammock?

You do. So do I. It's clear what ordinary means in this context, so don't take it as demeaning. This gear is meant to be used together, and it will be reviewed and evaluated in that sense. Give it a fair shot.

To that end, barring unforeseen circumstances I'll be filming and posting a candid, unbiased review of the VersaShelter system during the Smoked Butt Hang in North Carolina next month.

...or at least, that's the plan.
