    First family camping trip

Hello all, it's been a while!

This weekend will be the first time my first son has been camping. He'll be 5 weeks old the first night we're there. Here he is!

    Ok, I'm done.

So it looks like he'll be sleeping in my hammock with me, and it'll be in the low 40's at night. I'll have my (homebuilt) 20* UQ and TQ with me, and he'll be in there sharing body heat, so I think it'll be alright. Anybody have any tips?

    Ok. Now I'm actually done.

Babies don't move a large volume of air when they breath. so it is very important to keep all blankets shirts hats ect completely away from his face otherwize babies can end up rebreathing there own CO2 which is as you can imagine very bad. also do not drink alcohol or take any drugs that make you drowsy an make sure you are not dead tired when going to sleep. when cosleeping it is critical that you are easily roused from sleep in case of any problems. and lastly keep an eye on the angle of your little ones head if his chin is touching his chest or close to it it can block his airway.

other than that I think you will be fine My daughter loves my hammock and when she was three months old I had her lay down with me for the first time, she fell asleep in about 2 min an napped for about two hours. there is nothing that will make stress melt away faster than snuggling a baby in a hammock!

Congrats man, he's adorable. 5 weeks, your brave. Might wanna do some reading up on "Co-sleeping" just to be on the safe side. We took ours out at 4 months. He slept with mom in a tent, but napped twice swinging with me in the hammock. Nothing like it. Live it up bro.
