I am kinda sad I missed this!!! Looking forward to the June hang though. Nicky actually wants to start doing some overnight hiking, which is good. She has never done it before (she has Crohns, so it can be an issue sometimes), and we plan on doing some short overnight hikes this spring. Either way-I am envious I didnt get to go. I had more pressing matters though-but, June, I WILL be there!

This was my second winter camping experience and it was a great time being in the woods and the first time hanging from the rafters in a shelter. My new Burrow top quilt from Hammock Gear kept me nice and toasty warm when the temps dropped below 20 in the evenings. Great food, Nighthauk did have a surprise addition on the first night. I can't thank everyone enough for all the fantastic support. On the way in on Friday we met a crosscountry skier who suggested the Catamont trail as a shorter way back. I am attaching my GPS profile of the trail and have marked where the Catamont crosses the Stratton Pond trail.

You know, when I hiked out as I was walking down the snowmobile trail I looked over at where the Catamount trail came out and thought the same thing! Gonna have to try that route out sometime

Bet that was a grand time out in the woody fluff. Not to cold but just right.

Give us NEHHA members a shout before you do. I am sure you can find many willing participants in the shenanigans on the LT if you want the company.

JPkeo when we got back to the truck Sunday we talked to a couple of x-country skiers who told us about that trail as well. Showed us a map of it as well. Definitely gonna have to try that one.

Like Raiffnuke mentioned you wouldn't have to do it alone if you didn't want too. There are plenty of us NEHHA peeps here that the long trail is on our list as well. Happy to go with.

I forgot to mention in my last post that the hike in was about 5.5 miles from my GPS. A bit longer than posted on the the trail sign. Also here is a link to my photos and some of J_T's
