    Ridge line attachment

Alright guys I've been trying to get my Trek Light Double set up a little better. I've swapped the stock suspension out for a set of whoopies. I also ordered an adjustable structural ridge line. The problem is how do you attach this to the hammock? I've tried to search here and watch videos on YouTube. Sorry for my ignorance but I need a little help here. Thanks!

There are several ways. Can I assume you have the fixed eye of the whoopie sling running through the end channels on the hammock finished off with a larkshead (aka girth hitch)? One easy way is to put the fixed eye of the whoopie sling through the end channels and then through the loops of the SRL before completing the larkshead.

Here's a pic from a post by pgibson. The green line will be the loops of your adjustable structural ridgeline.

you can have your ridgeline, hammock, and whoopie all meet at a nacrabiner. I use a carabiner so i can easily add or subtract one element at a time.

This was the way that I thought seemed the most logical however I wanted the opinion of the hammock forum members before I proceeded. Thanks!

For the hammock I made my friend, I made the ridge line out of Amsteel and fed it through the inside of the whipping and made a back-spliced bite at the end to attach to the carabiners. The hammock is also attached to the carabiners via a back-spliced bite and then larks-headed onto the inner-side of the whipping.. Hope I said that correctly. Its just a loop with the tail buried.

Anyways, both are connected to the same carabiner/rings. By feeding the ridge line through the whipping it makes for a cleaner looking suspension. I also did a thread-injected channel at both ends of the hammock which I then fed a zip-tie through and cranked it down tight, creating a sort of knob at the end of the hammock to prevent the whipping from ever sliding off. I will take detailed pics and upload them next weekend when my friend comes over again.
