New Sock Idea!

I have considered something similar, using two different materials. Use something waterproof for the top, and a mesh strip underneath to aid breathability.

Of course, then I ran into the issues that NCPatrick brought up. I like the ability to just hang-out, and not be enclosed inside a sock.

what about something like this guys? it could have the tarp incorperated in with it....

I recall my kids having a sectioned hula-hoop,
6 or 8 prebent sections which clipped together to make about 1 meter diameter hoop. The only drawback is that it wa made of gaudy coloured plastic. Might be worth a shot though.
Other ideas would be to poach the inflatable rib idea from the power-kiting fraternity!
