I also treat my cloths and yard with premethrin

You can get it at feed and farm supply stores or on amazon.

Permethrin rocks. Barely use any deet anymore because of my treated hammock and clothing.

    Mosquitos

Thickness of material hasn't really mattered for me. Permethrin keeps me mosquito free in nearly anything. Sometimes I go camping in Bad ¥#% mosquito country, Atchafalaya Swamp. Killer Mosquitos

My hammock came with netting. I still was getting bit. I completely agree with using permethrin. It. Is. AWESOME! I treated my hammock and my clothes -including my fast-dry/duo-dry shirts and shorts that melt when in contact with Deet. I'm not brave enough to try sleeping without the netting though. Don't forget to treat your socks.

    Ok without permathin!!!

Guys, I got some phobia against all chemicals(I exaggerate) and would not consider putting anything on my hammock or myself for that matter. I got problems with bug spray! Need options material wise.

i have been bit through most fabrics that hammocks are made out of... the weave isn't going to be tight enough... your only option then is a net that fully encloses the hammock like http://www.dream-hammock.com/shop.ht...11&id=17335448...

i don't think any fabric stops the little buggers unless you get it thicker than their biter is long...

I've heard that a double layer helps prevent skeeters from biting through...something about them having trouble lining up two adjacent holes in the weave. I haven't personally tested this theory, but I'm sure I will this summer...

Im actually thinking of getting a DL . One being 2.7 oz the other 1.0 . Im wondering if that heavier fabric will stop them. I can just throw a pad between the DL if I get bit. !
