I set it up on the indoor stand taking care to hang the foot end about a foot higher than the head end (per Brandon's video); then I climbed in and moved myself more towards the head end instead of laying centered between the two ends (again, per Brandon's video).
Wow! A really flat lay! The first thing I noticed was, "What a large sweet spot"! To me the sweet spot seemed wider than any other gathered end hammock I've tried (only tried about 5 different gathered ends though - ymmv).
Later I attached a WL half-length summer under quilt (cause- this is inside ya know) and went to sleep.
In the past (me being spoiled by bridge hammocks) I was never able to sleep through the entire night in a gathered end hammock - I always woke up in the middle of the night and moved to my bed. Last night I slept through the entire night in a gathered end hammock for the first time. Before the XLC, only a bridge hammock ever gave me a good night's uninterrupted sleep.
Now, I've got to figure out this quilt thing on a gathered-end - cause ya know- quilts just are no trouble on a bridge...but quilts on a gathered-end do not seem to want to hang asymmetrically...
