Probably not a new idea but I thought I'd pass this along...
I picked up Montbell inflatable pillow in the PIF thread a while back. I love the pillow but got a bit aggravated having to chase it whenever I got in my hammock when it would try to slide down under the middle of my back. Unfortunately there is no place to attach a tether near the middle of the pillow. There are holes at the corners but then its going to end up turned at an angle and be only slightly less aggravating.
I'd thought about passing it along as a PIF bit its very comfortable when inflated just right. I thought about making a pillow with some ripstop, fleece and some leftover Climashield but really didn't want a bigger, bulkier pillow either...what to do, what to do... I thought about making a pillow case of some sort then hit on another, simpler idea.
All I did was cut a strip of fleece about a foot wide and about an inch longer than the pillow is tall. I also cut a 6-inch strip of grosgrain. I had 1-inch handy, most any size would do. I folded the fleece in half and pinned the opposite ends together and tucked the grosgrain loop inside. Sewing is simple...just one straight seam to join the ends together and catch the grosgrain.
Turn it right side out and add the shock cord tether...
and slide in the uninflated pillow...
Give the pillow a few puffs of air, hook it to your structural ridgeline or suspension, adjust the shock cord, lay back and enjoy...
