I kind of thought about it, but I really don't need a really light weight tarp in the winter, but do in the 3 seasons. I saw an episode of Dual Survival, where Cody built a shelter using plastic, and then built a fire outside to heat the inside. This may work for something like that......RR

The Solo super-ultralight tarp is 7' x 9' and weighs a mere 5.4 oz for the basic tarp, and just 12.3 oz with small poles, cordage and stakes.

The Double super-ultralight tarp is 10' x 9' and weighs only 12 oz for the basic tarp, and just 18.9 oz with small poles, cordage and stakes.

The Triple super-ultralight tarp is 14' x 9' and weighs only 18.6 oz for the basic tarp with end flaps, and just 26.5 oz with large poles, cordage and stakes.
After looking at the specs, for winter, my SF weighs almost the same as the triple, and I think my Tadpole is close to the weight of the double. Not really alot of savings......RR

Link to the Whiteblaze thread I found a while back: http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/show...me-Depot-Lowes. I assume this is a thicker product.

If you're into experimenting with DIY projects and want cheap material, it's perfect. The lightweight/cost ratio is hard to beat. Also like the idea of being transparent. Being completely cozy in heavy wind and/or rain with full visibility is pretty cool. Def wouldn't pay $70 when I can make my own in about an hour with less than $20.

What a lovely group of young ladies enjoying a refreshing beverage by the pool side. However, they seem to be blocking the view of the hammock in the background.
