    UQ Wonít stay put

Hey all, Iíve recently noticed an issue that I didnít seem to have. I went camping this past weekend, and both nights I had issues with my Winter Incubator UQ staying around the footbox.

Every time I woke up, the underquilt had ridden up pretty high on my body side, but had totally slipped off the footbox and under the hammock, leaving the underquilt only half on my hammock.

Iím not sure if maybe I had the drawstrings pulled a little too tight (you know, it IS pretty cold up here in Canada sometimes )

Any advice on how to keep your UQ staying on the hammock (and properly) for the next time I head out?

Also, I've seen that Dutch sells some hardware to keep your hammock in place, I was wondering myself if something like a clothespin or one of those small clips from the office supply store would work

I use the black binder clips to pin the head and foot spots in place... Seems to help...

I am not sure if anyone else mentioned it but your fit issue might also be related to your hammock setup. If you are not hanging your feet higher than your head, your body has a tendency to slip down toward the foot end of the hammock. When that happens, you will find it harder to keep the quilt fitted around you. Hope this helps. Let me know if it doesn't.

I also noticed that I had a hard time keeping my UQ in place in my test hang in the backyard. the posts that I would use to hang my hammock are too close together and I cannot get a taught ridgeline. the excess dip in the hammock can cause the uq to want to move off your butt and up one or the other sides. Although I am basically a hammock noob, and would defer to others of more extensive experience, this was something I have noticed.

I solved those problems with triangle thingies and a little more tension on the diagonal lay preference sides (me = shoulder left, feet right). I have an older quilt from Underground and modified the suspension a bit to be able to do this using a couple of pieces of shock cord and cord locks. I believe the newer quilts from the vendors are set up to do this now.
