Welcome Kevin! Looks to me like you are well down the path of hammock camping. We have a group hang planned for this weekend disguised as a hike:
Goodwater Loop, April, 5-7, Georgetown Texas
That's only three hours from MoBel!
I need to get out East more, I missed Caddo this year and your picture just makes it worse... The bowed tree frames it very nicely!

Welcome to the insanity... South Texan here... It's my fault the goodwater hang is taking place... We would love to have you at that event or any other one we plan... There is usually one a month somewhere in Texas... Rather that's an hour from you or 8 hours from you, well that's living in Texas for you...

Thanks guys. I will not be able to make it this time but I might be able to go on a future trip.
Welcome to the forum.
I just have one question. How did you get that tree to bend that way so's you could hang your hammock. I mean I've built lean-to's before but that one really takes the cake.
Welcome for the DFW area. As Rat mentioned...We have a group hang coming up this weekend that seems like it could be legendary You should try to make it if possible. Anyway, you are in the right place if you love hammocks!
If you ain't havin' fun, you're doin' it wrong
