I use an E-vent compression sack for my Sierra Sniveller and Greylock 3. I don't really compress mine down all that much. I us it more as a dry bag and strap it to the sleeping bag/pad straps on the bottom of my pack, freeing up more room inside if needed.

Same here. My UQ is a UGQ Zeppelin and my TQ is a Sierra Sniveler. The medium Sea-to-Summit e-Vent compression dry sack is hung on the bottom of my pack. I can now use a much smaller pack on overnight and weekend trips.

I think my compression sack is a 14 liter. It fits my DIY Kick-***-Quilt, or my 0* incubator, but I run out of straps. I think it would squash smaller, but it's as squashed as I can get it on those straps. Forget the brand, it's yellowish with black trim and straps.
My Burrow top quilt goes fine in it's little sack, which is uncompressed and slightly bigger than the other stuff when squashed. So I don't see the need to compress it. I have a big pack, so I don't have to over squash everything just to fit my gear in, especially in the summer!

+1 on the event compression sacks! Great things! Some people like to just throw the fluffy stuff on the bottom of their backpack. That way you fill up every possible spot in the backpack. If you put everything in compression sacks you end up with a lot of air gaps between the tubes...

compression sacks for uq and tq

I quit using compression or stuff sacks for my quilts. I just line my pack with a trash bag and smash the quilts down in the bottom of my pack and put everything else on top. I found the sacks didn't really save any space and was more of hassle. It's much quicker to pack up this way.

You folks have my deepest respect that put the top quilt and uq into the compactor bag without a retainer bag of some kind..
I need more practice, at this point it isn't an easy chore....
Kinda like tryin to keep an outside cat in the house..... Any little chance and it is tryin to jump out.......
Just an excuse to get out and practice I rekon..
We would be one step closer to world peace, if everyone slept in a hammock..

+1 pizza ~ less hassle, less space, no voids.
