I purchased an older Hennessy for $50 when they were switching to the asym design. I researched (that is, I asked Dutch) and found that the hammock body is not different. The newer asym models had different locations for the tieouts and the shape of the netting was different. So I moved the tieouts, and replaced the netting. It worked fine. Since then I have redone the netting (also adding a side-zip), and it still works fine. In fact, even before I did the asym mods it worked fine. In short, the hammock should serve well if it has been taken care of. The asym mod might be useful for taller and/or broader hangers, but it's not essential IMO. The bottom entry is a good design (especially for keeping mosquitoes out) but it's not for everyone. HYOH. If you don't want to tackle modifications yourself, ask ZQ. I'd say at $55 with shipping, this is a decent buy, but I wouldn't bid more than that.

    Good find. Good luck.

Get the Explorer... you will definitely like the extra space. I am 5' 10" and have the expedition and feel a little cramped.

I bought the eBay hammock, I get a little excited at auctions, I probably over paid, but am excited at the prospect of a ready to go outfit to get started with.

Well, the good thing is that there is always a market for them, so if it don't work out for you, then just re-sell it.
