Hello everyone! My name is Michael and I am very new to hammock camping, in fact I have never tried it.
Well thats not entirely true. I was in Mexico in a tiny little Mayan village, where everybody sleeps in hammocks (seriously, no one owns a bed), I bought a hammock handmade by a little old Mayan lady. From that point on I fell in love with hammocks!
When I stumbled upon Hammock Camping a few days ago (Thanks to Biophthera and Shuggidy Shug Shug Shug Emery!) I knew this was something I needed to do.
SO, right now I'm in the process of making all of my own gear, so it might be a little while before I actually get out there.
This forum has been so incredibly helpful! Thank you to everyone who has put up tutorials and advice, I can't thank you enough!
What else can I say...
I'm 25, I love to travel, lived in China for over a year (which is where I have done most of my backpacking), I love music and martial arts.
If you have any advice you would like to impart, please do!
