    PLUQ+Pad? And other questions

So I have been reading up on the PLUQs because I have a few I can use. I have come to the conclusion (based on other threads) these are no good for temps under 40*. So I thought, what if I put a CCF pad or some other sort of insulation between the layers of the poncho liner? Could this get me into lower temps? Nothing too serious, I don't like winter backpacking.

Also, it seems that everyone has a problem with these not being too breathable, how much of a problem is this? And can it be solved?

Yes, you can add extra layers between the folded poncho. Or slide the pad between the hammock and the PLUQ.
Clothing or extra layers of climashield or insultex have been used before.
Reflectix or those windshield reflectors can also work.

Keeping a breathable layer between you and the pad does help with the sweat/condensation issue. Play around with it and see what works for you.
But laying directly on a pad will get clammy for most folks. It is plastic afterall.
