The tabs only come into play when using as a tarp with an external ridgeline or for extra ridgeline support, which is not a config I'd use anyway. I tried the following ridgeline tie-out option when testing - you can see how the middle tabs in the ridgeline are pulled out - this is what causes stretching of the thread holes on the tabs:




A more common tarp config that works great for my regular hammocks:



Pulling the extra fabric around you for extra warmth:



A standard UQ fits well, no need for clips. I just hang a biner on the suspension line and attach the UQ to the biner. No need for tabs to attach the UQ. Unless I'm misunderstanding you.
