So I'm very new to hammocks and i want to purchase a one to take backpacking. As of the now all i have is Bass Pro's Hobo Hammock, i love it in regular campgrounds but I want something better and to sleep in on the trail, ANY advice helps.

In my experience, most folks start the commercial brands like eno or grand trunk, which are entry level bare bones but decent hammocks. Moving up there are Hennessey, Claytor, and Clark hammocks that offer more features are considered very nice but can be far more expensive.
Then there are the Cottage folk that have creations derived from experience and HF member input. Chief among those hammocks is the WarBonnet Blackbird (wbbb). Seems to be the most popular and timeless. Many other hf vendors create some awesome rigs, all of which have great features, are of very high quality and the best customer service possible.
For the record my first hammock was a Hen expedition which I now use as a loner. My mainstay is a DIY gathered end that has seen dang near every gimmick and trick this forum has to offer.
Hope that helps

big recommendation for buttinasling.com
their hammocks are first class in my opinion
Try to get out to a group hang - you would get to see a variety of rigs that way before you make a purchase
see you on the trail,

I concur. A group hang is a great place to check out hammock gear.
I'm a HUGE fan of Wilderness Logics.
I have 3 complete sets from WL. Hammocks, tarps, TQs, UQs and bug nets.
IMHO they're stuff is just that good!
My first hammock was the ENO double nest, as was many others. Today I only wish I had started with a GT skeeter beater pro, but you can have my WBBB when you pry it from my cold dead hands.

I'm new myself. My hammock is the Hennessy expedition zip model with a hex tarp. I like it a lot. Plenty of room to move and the built in bug net is great. Its easy to set up and take down and didn't cost too much.

+1 on attending a group hang. There are too many options that often boil down to personal preference. One thing you can decide now is the basic type of hammock you want which could narrow it down a lot. Do you want a bridge hammock or gathered end? Bug net included or open face? I would at least get one that has a structural ridgeline, since that is the easiest and most reliable way to ensure the propper hang and sag when you're first starting out.
P.S. I'm very happy with my WBBB, but HYOH.

Now far ahead the Road has gone,

And whither then? I cannot say."

Blackbird is the best. :-) Shelf, footbox, bug net.
Tanks for all the advise guys, will be looking to get out to hang sometime soon!
