White Rocks trip report 4-8-13

Looks like a great time! I shoulda bailed sooner on my SOAK weekend hike & made a trip to your White Rocks hang.
Did not make it into the Sods, too much snow to get up to FS70, so we hit canaan mtn from Blackwater falls SP. We finally bailed after over 3 hours of post holing through wet snow. We were prepared for cold, wet, windy, mad dogs, mean bears, hungry mountain men and high-water crossing, but not 1 to 3 feet of snow. We did expect snow but not mile after mile of it. We hated bailing on a such a beautiful weekend, but wet feet, wet clothes and very little forward progress was demoralizing. We did have fun falling in the snow.
