    Sons first BackPacking Trip!

Wanted to get my son out for his first BP trip... I took my daughter out last year and he has been asking ever since.

Got the whole fam involved in this one... Ms. qb (who hasnt' had a pack on her back for several years), my son and daughter.
Went up to Uwharrie at the 109 Trail Head and parked there for a Sat/Sun overnight. Temps were mild in the day and it got down to the mid 40s that night. Trails were not crowded (surprising) and we did not see any other tents for the couple of miles we hiked.

A couple of highlights for the kids... crossing several streams, climbing every tree and building the fire even in 70* temps.
I slept in my modified JRB BMBH UL/ MamJam and they stayed in the Golite Shang 3.
I got to test out some new stuff and some of my DIY stuff. Everything worked out great.
Pics are of the kids and our set up as well as the Uwharrie trail.
Can't wait to get out again soon and start transferring some of the weight from my pack to theirs!
