For hot weather hanging, what's the best hammock fan when you're canoe or car camping, and weight is NOT a factor?
I'd still want it to be small and light, just not gram weenie ultra light backpacker light!

The Coleman tent fans work pretty good. I think T-Back modified the tarstuff out of one and was pleased with its weight and performance. I've given up on a lightweight solution, but will use one when car camping if needed.

If you could get ahold of/use one of dblhmmk's fan-assisted DIY stoves for your cooking, you could kill two birds with one stove. Just disassemble the fan from the stove when you are ready to go to bed, and hang in the hammock.

I don't think so - you'd have to contact dblhmmk to see if he has plans, or how he did it. I know Grizz was a lucky recipient of one, and demonstrated it in one of his videos.
If memory serves from Grizz's vid it was a pretty tiny fan. Like the size of a laptop computer fan. Not sure it would serve as a hammock fan. I could be wrong. YMMV

I've never needed a fan in a hammock, so I'm not sure how big it would need to be.It doesn't get as hot up here in the summer - heck, sometimes we don't even know it is summer until people start lighting off fireworks.
The rest of the time everyone is all bundled up or huddled next to their stoves/heaters.
I think you are right, though. It is a pretty small fan, like a laptop fan. But wouldn't that move enough air in a hammock? I mean, are you looking for something that makes the bugnet flap? I really have no clue here.

Computer fans don't work unless you are willing to sleep with it a couple of inches away from your face. The novelty fans that look like they can be mostly disassembled for weight savings, work great! Just not for very long. The actual "tent fans" sold by a couple of outdoor companies work very well as far as moving air goes. But, they tend to be on the 'bigger' side and require some strip-down time. If I was still living in Florida this would be my main mission in life. Hard to sleep when the air is hot soup!

Check out this thread. Lots of info. I use one that came from Walgreens. Work pretty well.
