If you want an honest consumer opinion, here goes: I wouldn't buy anything orange to be in the outdoors with. Second, your tarp doesn't even include guylines or stow away guyline pockets offered by Hennessey. The suspension looks terrible and wire gate carbineers are cheap and aren't durable. No ridge line? I could buy an Eno for a fraction of your price and they have a reputable name. Also, the hammock looks huge. I'd hate to lug that thing around. Sorry if I sound harsh, but you came on the forum to sell a sub par product, not to talk about a hobby with other enthusiasts.

Wow friend, you packed a lot of negative thoughts into that one little paragraph. Perhaps there's a better way to question some of the features and specs without being so harsh. I personally have never seen one of these and doubt I ever will, but I would encourage you to be a little kinder in your approach.

Just some of my own thoughts.

- How many Black Diamond Neutrino Carabiners have you broken?

- 20 oz vs 19.3 oz is actually very close?

I agree with Papa. This is a kind forum, but vendors need to do their homework as much as hangers do....maybe more, if they intend to be successful. I'll probably never see out from the inside of either of these hammocks. (Spend too much time on the DH website drooling).

Save the discussion for a title bout.

A consumer is a buyer of goods and services. As a consumer I have chosen not to buy their products based on what was advertised on their website. I recently purchased a Hennessy Hex on Amazon for $65 which includes tie outs and pockets. You're right, the Eno does retail for $70. However, I purchased one from Rei for around $40 with my 20% annual discount and dividends. I'm not sure what kind of discounts this particular hammock maker offers. No suspension is better than one that was paid for and needs to be replaced. About the carbineers, I climb wood and steel for a living as a lineman and use carbineers for a variety of functions, and in ten years in the business have never seen a wire gate on the job.

Sorry if I offended anyone, but I'm tired of be hawked products that use "made in America" as its first and biggest selling point. Why don't you try making a quality and innovative product at a competitive price (not saying these hammocks aren't) and as a side note, point out its made in America.

Just to say, I was very impressed with the quality and forethought put into these products. The owner I met at the Smoked Butt Hang was very friendly and open to suggestions. I do not think that the hammocks are very different or innovative per se, but this is an alternative I'd recommend before I'd look at an ENO. YMMV, but this is my opinion from my first hand experience.

Also as a rock climber for several years, I was used to using wire gate carabiners to reduce weight and have taken many a fall on them from 20' or more and they held just fine. Aren't industrial use and military grade carabiners over designed? Maybe I'm misinformed.

Thank you all for sharing your opinion so that upcoming consumers will be able to see the varying opinions before making their own decision.

No they don't, but competitive retailers offer them for some unknown reason. I think I might have slept through that lecture in Marketing 101. I'm getting the feeling some of you did as well.
