    stake storage

How are folks storing their tarp stakes? I'm always trying to find a good solution to keep them stuffed with tarp, lines and everything else without risking putting holes in the tarp. They've already eaten through my little nylon stake bag.

    Tyvek

I made mine out of Tyvek. It holds both my stakes and my line for my bear bag. Real easy to make and is tough as well.

    Re: stake storage

I have a bag made out of gasket material from work, think thin stiff cardboard... Then wrapped in duct tape, not ul but functional and holds 8 stakes tight enough to hold it upside down...

By bear bag rock sack hold my stakes. I just got a new one that I have been testing and so far it has worked great, I have been carrying two so as to test if the new one works or not, it may be time to switch out my old one.

    It's from Gossamer Gear - http://gossamergear.com/etc/roksak.html

My old one came from antigravitygear, I think it was made from 1.9oz sil or something- http://www.antigravitygear.com/antig...-725-line.html mine has a bunch of holes that have been covered with repair tape, kinda looks like I repaired a piece of swiss cheese. My only issue/complaint with the AGG one is my stakes don't fit as nicely in as the GG one.

It would be super easy to DIY one though.

I roll my stakes up in the two small pieces (8" x 10" or so) of Zorb camp towell that I use to dry my tarp off when packing up. A rubber band or small bungee loop holds the roll together. It gives plenty of cushioning to keep the stake points covered. Then I roll the stake package up in the edge of my tarp when I furl it. That way the stakes and the towel pieces are handy when I'm setting up and taking down. The tarp gets fastened when furled with 3 small pieces of bungee permanently attached to the ridgeline (no snakeskin necessary with cuben, IMO). When the tarp is set up the Zorb pieces are tied to the ridgeline with one of the bungees.

I keep my stakes in a Crown Royal bag. Holds several Groundhawgs and extra line for the tarp and general use.

ditto on the Tyvek. Cheap enough that if I ruin it I can make another a couple of minutes.
