Depends on when you go. Here's a comparison when I recently went in September (left) and early May (right)
In September, I arrived around 11PM and stopped by the lake around 11:30PM to get some water. With a near-full moon, it was bright and the dirt looked like water from a distance. I was totally shocked to realize I was walking on the bottom of the lake! Good thing I carried in at least 1L to get me thru the night.
When it is full, I would guess it's maybe a few feet deep at best (just a total guess). Lots of those long-legged bugs (Crane Fly?) all around the shore and pretty mucky in some areas. Not the typical sandy beach you want to have for swimming.
I would love to do this trip and get a chance to meet some of the Michigan hammock contingent. Unfortunately, the most popular date for the hike falls on a pre-planned trip for me to SLC that weekend with my sweetie... I will have to keep my eyes open for another opportunity to get together this summer!
This gives me a chance to get my equipment put together and try it out on at least 1 scout campout in a couple weeks....
Spring is definitely in the air!!

Only about 3 hours away sounds interesting
I voted and I will be able to go as long as I know 3 weeks in advance.
June 7 seems popular... shal we make it official or do we need to start another thread?!? Lmao

Let's make it official. June 7th it is.
I think a new thread is needed to add the date to the title. Any input?
