    Fighting the urge to spend!

I'm currently fighting the urge to spend way too much money (the prices are good, I'm just greedy and want it all at once!) on a new top quilt, underquilt and a lovely cuben fibre tarp!

    Someone please stop me!!!

Noid; don't fight it. The urge knows best.

    1) A small investment now will stimulate the national economy contributing to our collective security.
    2) A new underquilt will insure you will be better rested after your next weekend enjoying the outdoors. It seems plausible that if you were fatigued, you may back you vehicle into a tree. The resultant damage would require an insurance deductible and possibly an increase in you rates. You would actually be saving money by purchasing and underquilt now.
    3) There is always the possiblity of some color variation between fabric batches. It seems prudent to buy a top quilt now to insure that the colors match the underquilt.
    4) With new down, it really makes sense to protect your entire sleep system with a suitable tarp. I for one believe "see-thru-ness" is a word and is highly desirable in a tarp.
    5) All the cool kids are doing it!

Hope this helps ease your conscience.

Give in to you fear. Fear is the path to the dark side. Come to the dark side.

But seriously, good gear wil last and make life outdoors better. From experience I've learned that settling and compromising makes me spend twice. The fist time is the less expensive item that works but is not what I wanted. The second item ends up being what I wanted in the first place. Now I just buy what I want up front and I save money in the long run.

Do it. I tried the cheap route and ended up blowing money I'll never get back on cheap tarps and crappy insulation. It was stressful as well, waking up cold and wet.

Your going to buy it anyways ... Just buy it all at once and save on shipping :-)
